It is with the greatest pleasure and pride that I get to congratulate the newest PADI Open Water Certified Divers as well as PADI Advanced Open Water Divers and Specialty Divers - certified in Bonaire and with DiveStrong Canada. Everyone did a fantastic job and I am so thrilled to have introduced and re-introduced you to our awesome ocean world!
Some wonderful things happened with this trip. Not only was it the inaugural trip for DiveStrong Canada after our inception in February of this year, it was also overwhelmingly attended with students of all levels and interests! Some new 'spotters' were created on this trip - students spotted the seahorse captured in this shot. Additionally, while I was focused on skills on various specialties - our Dive Master, Randy was kept busy capturing shots pointed out by our entourage - scorpion fish, eagle rays, sting rays, Peacock Flounders and so much more!
Then, just as I was sure that the beach was going to be a welcome respite to so much in-water activity - the group asked us to guide them around this beautiful paradise to take in some of the sites Randy and I had initially explored in 2012. With pleasure!
We visited Bonaire Windsurf Place and did some windsurfing and stand up paddleboarding; toured the island and visited Aletta at Semper Kontentu Goat farm; had lunch at the Harbour Village in the Washington Slagbaai National Park; and feasted at a number of the local food spots including: The Rib Factory; It Rains Fishes; Spice and Karel's Beach Bar.
Bonaire, land and sea! Such a great time had by all and so many bucket list items checked off!
Congratulations and I look forward to leading Dive Strong Canada's next trip - Belize with Hopkins Underwater Adventures in November of 2013! Contact us to check out trip details, space availability and courses offered. See you soon!
